Diretor de licenciamento do Ibama deixa o cargo

O diretor de Licenciamento Ambiental do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiental e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama), Sebastião Custódio Pires, deixou o cargo e deve voltar para a superintendência do órgão em Minas Gerais, de onde é servidor de carreira. O Ibama não informou quem substituirá Custódio na diretoria

Diretor de licenciamento do Ibama deixa o cargo

Segundo o Ibama, a saída de Custódio foi um ato administrativo. Outro funcionário do órgão ambiental, coordenador-geral de Infra-Estrutura de Energia Elétrica, Leozildo Tabajara da Silva Benjamim, teve a exoneração publicada na terça-feira (1°) no Diário Oficial da União. De acordo com a assessoria do Ibama, Tabajara deixou o cargo a pedido.

A área de licenciamento têm sido alvo de pressões da área econômica do governo, principalmente os casos de empreendimentos energéticos. A tensão atual é a cobrança da licença prévia para a Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte, no Rio Xingu (PA). O ministro de Minas e Energia, Edison Lobão, chegou a anunciar um prazo para a conclusão dos trabalhos dos técnicos do Ibama para o meio de novembro, mas a licença não foi concedida. O governo havia anunciado o leilão da hidrelétrica para 21 de dezembro, mas teve que adiar os planos por causa da falta de liberação ambiental.
