Emater supera expectativas com crédito rural

O Instituto de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural do Piauí (Emater-PI), presente nos 224 municípios do Estado, está proporcionando uma expressiva melhoria na condição de vida e geração de renda dos agricultores familiares do município de Itaueira, a 331 quilômetros de Teresina, região de Canto do Buriti. As ações do Instituto no sentido de aumentar os lucros com a produção de milho, arroz, feijão, assim como a caprinovinocultura, entre outros produtos, têm despertado cada vez mais interesse por parte dos agricultores familiares, principais beneficiários do Emater.

Em Itaueira, os projetos do Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar (Pronaf) é um dos pontos de maior incentivo econômico para o desenvolvimento da produção dos agricultores familiares. Só em dezembro de 2009 foram 58 projetos de investimentos elaborados do Pronaf B, 11 projetos de investimentos contratados do Pronaf B, 80 projetos de custeios elaborados do Pronaf C, três projetos de custeios elaborados do Pronaf B, 41 projetos de custeios contratados do Pronaf C e dois projetos de custeios contratados do Pronaf B, com o valor total de R$ 424.800,00.

Segundo o coordenador regional do Emater-Canto do Buriti, Pedro Paulo da Silva, as ações do Emater têm grande importância para o município de Itaueira e para sua agricultura familiar. ”O Emater é fundamental para tirar o agricultor familiar da linha de pobreza e aumentar sua renda, através do acompanhamento e assistência técnica que são dados”, explicou.

O Emater é ainda o responsável pela emissão da Declaração de Aptidão ao Pronaf - DAP, em Itaueira, que tem, aproximadamente, 1.200 agricultores cadastrados no Ministério do Desenvolvimento Agrário (MDA), com possibilidades de beneficiamento através de créditos rurais.

De acordo com Joaquim Coelho Saraiva, técnico responsável pelo escritório do Emater, em Itaueira, só no Banco do Nordeste foram mais de 300 ações pelo Pronaf B, e 150 no Banco do Brasil, pelo Pronaf B e agricultura familiar. Para Joaquim, o Emater ajudou em muitos aspectos. ”A maioria que não tinha acesso a crédito, hoje, pode melhorar a vida da família com o crédito rural”, ressaltou.
