Petrobras obtém licença ambiental para iniciar alcooduto

A Petrobras (PETR3, PETR4) comunicou ao mercado nesta quarta-feira (7) que o Ibama (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis) concedeu licença ambiental prévia para a construção de um trecho do sistema de dutos projetado para o escoamento do etanol produzido na região Centro Oeste do País e no nordeste de São Paulo.

O sistema visa o transporte para consumidores de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro, além de possibilitar a cabotagem para outros estados e exportações. O trecho a ser construído consiste em um duto de comprimento de 542 km e capacidade de transportar até 12,9 milhões de metros cúbicos de etanol por ano, demandando investimento em torno de US$ 1,1 bilhão.

Serão implantados ainda dois centros coletores para receber o etanol das usinas: um em Uberaba (MG), onde o duto terá início, e outro em Ribeirão Preto (SP), um dos 33 municípios por que esse primeiro trecho irá passar. Finalizando no Vale do Paraíba, o duto será conectado a outros já existentes na direção da Grande São Paulo, do Rio de Janeiro e do litoral paulista. A previsão é de que o funcionamento tenha início no segundo semestre de 2011.

Parceria

O projeto para o sistema de dutos é coordenado pela PMCC Projetos de Transporte de Álcool, instituição resultante de uma parceria entre Petrobras, Mitsui e Camargo Corrêa. As empresas ainda planejam ampliar a rede até o Terminal de Senador Canedo (GO) e construir novos dutos ligando Paulínia à hidrovia Paraná-Tietê e ao terminal marítimo de São Sebastião.
