Marinha recebe licença do Ibama para obras de estaleiro e base naval no RJ

O Ibama autorizou o início das obras de Estaleiro e Base Naval para Construção de Submarinos Convencionais e de Propulsão Nuclear da Marinha. O empreendimento será implantado na Baia de Sepetiba, Ilha Madeira, município de Itaguaí, no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. O estaleiro e a base destinam-se à fabricação, manutenção e comando de submarinos.

As obras serão executadas em aterro hidráulico protegido por enrocamento, num total de 413 mil metros quadrados. A Licença de Instalação assinada pelo presidente do Ibama, Abelardo Bayma, contem 12 condicionantes, dentre as quais se destacam a exigência de programas de monitoramento da biota aquática, dos sedimentos resultantes da atividades de dragagem e do gerenciamento de riscos ambientais.

Por se tratar de projeto militar, o licenciamento ambiental é de competência do Ibama.
