Bahia promove encontros para elaboração de Plano Estadual de Combate à Desertificação e Mitigação dos Efeitos da Seca

As pesquisas realizadas em conjunto entre o Ingá e a Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana identificaram 52 municípios no entorno das regiões de Guanambi, Irecê, Jeremoabo e Juazeiro vulneráveis ao processo de desertificação no Estado

Especialistas se reuniram esta semana na última oficina para elaboração do Plano Estadual de Combate à Desertificação e Mitigação dos Efeitos da Seca, PAE- Bahia.

O evento, realizado em Juazeiro, foi promovido pelo Instituto de Gestão das Águas e Clima, Ingá. O Plano tem como objetivo elaborar políticas públicas precisas para desenvolvimento sustentável do semiárido baiano.

“O processo de desertificação traz prejuízos diretos à sociedade, com perdas sensíveis para a economia dos locais atingidos, causa ainda desastres maiores na biodiversidade, atingindo os solos por erosão e diminuição dos recursos hídricos”, disse o secretário de Meio Ambiente, Eugênio Spengler.

A sociedade tem apresentado sugestões ao PAE-Bahia, como o beneficiamento de frutos da Caatinga; a apicultura e a utilização de espécies nativas da flora regional do Semiárido para alimentação de caprinos e ovinos; a utilização de sementes crioulas, derivadas dos cultivos tradicionais sem a utilização de agrotóxicos, entre outros.

As pesquisas realizadas em conjunto entre o Ingá e a Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana identificaram 52 municípios no entorno das regiões de Guanambi, Irecê, Jeremoabo e Juazeiro vulneráveis ao processo de desertificação no Estado.
