A indústria da carne agora tem um parâmetro global de sustentabilidade. São as normas da Rede de Agricultura Sustentável (RAS), divulgadas nesta terça, dia 31. O produto certificado pela RAS poderá ser identificado pelo selo Rainforest Alliance Certified.

– É um avanço imenso. Mas, dependendo do grau de degradação da propriedade e dos recursos hídricos, a obtenção do selo pode ser mais ou menos difícil. O produtor vai ter de adequar seu negócio – esclarece Claudio Haddad, professor do Departamento de Zootecnia da Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, da Universidade de São Paulo (Esalq/USP).

Luis Fernando Pinto, secretário do Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola (Imaflora), diz que as normas foram testadas em seis países, incluindo o Brasil.

– A grande dificuldade é a rastreabilidade do animal. Mas as normas são compatíveis com nossa realidade.

Para o presidente do grupo JD, que atua no agronegócio, Arnaldo Eijsink, a iniciativa agrega valor. "O selo tem credibilidade. Pode ajudar a abrir o mercado nacional para os produtores.

– O grupo será o primeiro a certificar a produção de carne. As informações são do jornal O Estado de S. Paulo
