Anvisa proíbe uso do agrotóxico triclorfom e restringe uso do fosmete no Brasil

O agrotóxico triclorfom foi banido do país. A Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) determinou a proibição do produto, que até a decisão era registrado para uso em 45 culturas, como arroz, feijão, tomate e milho. As importações também estão proibidas. O agrotóxico, que já é vetado na Comunidade Europeia, está associado a problemas no sistema de reprodução e no sistema hormonal.

O agrotóxico já não era comercializado pelo fabricante. Mesmo assim, a Anvisa afirma que a medida era essencial.

– Sem tal decisão, não havia nenhum impedimento para que outro fornecedor trouxesse o produto para o país – afirmou o gerente-geral de toxicologia da Anvisa, Luís Cláudio Meirelles.

A Anvisa também restringiu o uso do agrotóxico fosmete, que passa a ser considerado altamente tóxico. Usado em citros, maçã e pêssego, o limite diário aceitável de ingestão foi reduzido de 0,01 mg para 0,005 mg. A Anvisa determinou redução das culturas em que o uso do produto é permitido, e divulgou regras mais rígidas para comercialização do produto e para seu uso nas lavouras.

As decisões são reflexo de uma ação da Anvisa para reavaliação dos agrotóxicos usados no país. Em 2008, a agência colocou em exame 14 ingredientes ativos – a maior parte delas já banida em outros países. Juntos, os ingredientes representam 1,4% das 431 moléculas autorizadas para lavouras no país. As informações são do jornal O Estado de S. Paulo.
