A soja é uma cultura extremamente conhecida dos produtores do Centro-Oeste brasileiro. No entanto, muitos ainda não tomam os cuidados de manejo necessários ou não se informam corretamente sobre as práticas que podem melhorar a produtividade para que o grão obtenha o máximo do seu potencial.

A Fundação MT está promovendo o Dia de Campo É Hora de Plantar Soja do dia 30 de agosto a 3 de setembro em 15 municípios do Mato Grosso. Um dos palestrantes do evento é o superintendente da região do Cerrado da Tropical Melhoramento & Genética, Sérgio Suzuki, que vai explicar aos produtores todos os fatores que influenciam na produtividade para que eles consigam atingir 100 sacas por hectare.

A primeira medida é o produtor conhecer bem a área em que ele vai plantar, saber as suas limitações, as características do terreno e escolher a melhor variedade que vai atender às necessidades da área de produção dele. É como escalar um time, de acordo com o adversário você escolhe os seus jogadores ideais. Eu tenho que escolher as variedades mais adequadas para enfrentar as dificuldades da área.

Se onde eu vou plantar tem problemas de nematóides de cistos, por exemplo, eu tenho que escolher variedades com resistência a este problema para ter uma ótima produtividade. Acabamos de ter áreas comerciais em que conseguiram atingir 108 sacas de soja por hectare no Estado do Paraná. Este não é o normal, mas o produtor foi cuidadoso, fez um ótimo manejo e conseguiu este resultado — explica o superintendente.

Suzuki diz que existe inúmeras cultivares no mercado com resistência a várias doenças e pragas. O produtor só precisa ficar atento aos problemas da sua região e escolher entre as diversas variedades modernas disponíveis. Depois desta escolha, o passo mais importante passa a ser a adubação.

A fertilização do solo é muito importante no Centro-Oeste porque o Cerrado, de forma geral, tem solo pobre em vários nutrientes e em matéria orgânica.

Ele diz que é preciso investir bastante em calagem, para corrigir a acidez do solo, e também em fósforo e potássio, que são micronutrientes muito importantes para a soja e encontrados em baixa quantidade no Cerrado. É sempre importante que o produtor faça a análise de solo para saber com precisão as necessidades do solo da área em que está plantando e usar os insumos da melhor forma possível.

A necessidade de adubação no Centro-Oeste é muito grande porque o Cerrado tem uma baixa fertilidade, de forma geral. O produtor tem que investir muito em calagem, para corrigir a acidez, tem que botar muito fósforo e potássio, porque os solos são pobres nestes macronutrientes.

Pensando em milho o nitrogênio é muito importante. O produtor que já vem fazendo isto há mais tempo, que já corrigiu estas questões principais, já começa a dar atenção a outros nutrientes como o boro, zinco e molibdênio, que também são importantes. Eu tenho que olhar a adubação e o manejo que eu tenho no meu solo, através da rotação de culturas e de sistemas de produção onde eu possa estar preservando o potencial produtivo — ensina.

Outro fator de muita importância para o sucesso da plantação e o alcance de excelentes produtividades é respeitar a época de plantio ideal para cada região. O mais recomendado para a região do Mato Grosso é o plantio a partir da segunda quinzena de outubro e início de novembro, que pode variar um pouco em função da ocorrência de chuvas. Mas ele diz que grandes produtores com muitos hectares de soja a serem plantados muitas vezes não conseguem respeitar este prazo pelo tamanho da sua plantação e começam a plantar a soja antes para conseguir fazer o plantio a tempo.

O produtor tem que estar preocupado com época de plantio recomendada, fazer a adubação correta, fazer o bom controle de pragas e doenças, principalmente a ferrugem, e utilizar fungicidas que sejam eficientes para controlar a doença. À medida em que ele não faz estes controles e não toma os cuidados, aquela produtividade ideal que poderia ser de 108 pode cair pra 60 e até 40 sacas por hectare, dependendo do nível de problema.

Fatores como bom manejo de solo, rotação de cultura e adubação adequada fazem com que o produtor tenha uma ótima produtividade não só nesta safra que está em curso como consegue manter o alto nível ao longo dos anos — alerta Suzuki.
