Pinturas Rupestres Atraem Turistas à Castelo

Castelo do Piauí (localizado a 190 Km da capital Teresina) é conhecido pela prática de turismo ecológico e rural e pela produção industrial de cachaça de alambique. Nos dias 24 a 26 de julho de 2009, a cidade tornou-se palco do maior evento de promoção do ecoturismo local e do agronegócio da cachaça de alambique, a quinta edição do Cachaça Fest, que recebeu visitantes de todo o estado. Os pontos turísticos como o Cânion do rio Poty e São Miguel, a Pedra do Castelo, Castelo das Barrocas e dos Tucuns, Picos dos André e Baixa do Cajueiro constituem um show à parte, onde a natureza se exibe em todo o seu esplendor. Para o prefeito da cidade, Wilmar Cardoso, o agronegócio da cachaça é um dos setores que mais movimenta a economia local, mas acrescenta que o município conta também com a produção permanente de castanha de caju e pó de carnaúba, hoje exportado diretamente para outros municípios. O conjunto arquitetônico natural composto por inúmeras pedras com os mais diversificados formatos, que lembra castelos medievais faz parte do panorama imagético da Pedra do Castelo das Barrocas, um lugar escondido entre uma vasta flora e fauna preservada e quase intocada pelo homem. A natureza convive harmonicamente com o toque das lendas e mitos locais que giram em torno da Pedra, como a famosa lenda da princesa dourada que encanta com sua beleza e canto os passantes do local. “A primeira vez que vi a princesa na janela me emocionei com tanta beleza, mas ao chegar mais perto, vi que ela desapareceu de repente, afirma o morador da região Francisco Cruz. As pinturas rupestres presentes no interior da Pedra é outro atrativo que desperta a atenção de todos que visitam o local. Chegando ao Picos dos André é impossível não se impressionar com o cenário natural exibido pelas mais belas e complexas pedras que escondem segredos do seu passado pré-histórico. Segundo Augusto Júnior, condutor de turismo local (CONDATUR), as inúmeras pinturas rupestres presentes nas pedras do Ninho dos Urubus, da Pedra Furada dos Picos dos André e da Pedra do Dinheiro mostram pinturas coloridas, ou seja, a policromia presente constitui um diferencial no âmbito de pinturas rupestres já vistos nos sítios arqueológicos do Piauí. O Pico dos André, onde estão localizados os sítios arqueológicos, abriga uma comunidade composta por 27 famílias, que estão inseridas no parque e dali retiram o seu sustento. Ainda não há nenhum projeto socioambiental que integre as famílias às ações do sítio, assegura o morador Carlos Henrique Almeida. Para ele, que nasceu e vive ali a preservação de tudo o que se encontra em flora e fauna, pinturas rupestres e todo o bioma natural é seu maior desejo. Passear pelas inúmeras trilhas ecológicas que guardam segredos de uma caatinga ainda pouco conhecida é, antes de tudo, desbravar um Piauí sertanejo em meio a uma natureza exuberante.
