Terceira edição do Basta Ecológico mostra a importância da Educação Ambiental

A terceira edição do Basta Ecológico, que aconteceu hoje (09) pela manhã, no Parque Ambiental Encontro dos Rios, mostrou a importância da Educação Ambiental na prevenção de crimes ambientais e maus tratos contra os animais.

O evento organizado pela ambientalista Jaqueline Lustosa contou com o apoio do BPA (Batalhão da Polícia Ambiental) e de educadores ambientais. O atropelamento dos animais, como os cágados de barbicha na travessia da Avenida Boa Esperança, também foi mostrado durante o Basta Ecológico.

Os condutores de veículos foram parados na Avenida do Parque Ambiental, no Poty Velho e receberam material informativo de conscientização sobre os crimes ambientais.

“Estamos na terceira edição e cada dia sentimos que é importante promovermos ações como essa, porque o objetivo é fazer com que a população se conscientize sobre a preservação ambiental e respeitem os animais”, disse Jaqueline Lustosa.

Para a capitã do BPA, Ivonilde Melo, os crimes ambientais e os maus tratos precisam ser combatidos, mas é um problema de educação ambiental e conscientização mesmo. As crianças são nossos parceiros mais importantes, pois elas ajudam a conscientizar os pais, que acabam contribuindo para a preservação ambiental, porque é de fato um apelo emocional muito eficiente”, acrescentou.

De acordo com o secretário de meio Ambiente de Teresina, Valdemir Virgino, o trabalho da ambientalista Jaqueline Lustosa tem ajudado na educação e conscientização da população que passa a ter mais informação e conscientização.

“Hoje, estamos também fazendo um trabalho de educação e conscientização ambiental na Vila Irmã Dulce, e acredito que campanhas educativas surtem efeitos positivos sempre”, enfatizou.

De acordo com o Batalhão de Polícia Ambiental de Teresina, no estado do Piauí o tráfico de animais silvestre é o crime que figura na lista como o mais cometido, as constantes blitz e apreensões sempre flagram esses animais sendo comercializados nas feiras e mercados públicos de Teresina.

“As aves silvestres são as mais cobiçadas no mercado negro do tráfico. Os fatores culturais ainda predominam e atrapalham as ações de combate. O hábito de criar pássaros silvestre em gaiolas em casa, passa de geração a geração, por isso é ainda difícil de combater”, acrescentou a capitã Ivonilde, do BPA.
