Prazo para regulamentação de orgânicos termina em dezembro

Os produtores têm até 31 de dezembro para se adaptar às normas previstas pelo Decreto nº 7.048/2009, específicas para produção e comercialização de orgânicos, que incluem armazenamento, rotulagem, transporte, certificação e fiscalização. O produtor que cumprir as novas regras receberá o selo do Sistema Brasileiro de Conformidade Orgânica.

Segundo o coordenador de Agroecologia do Ministério da Agricultura, Rogério Dias, a legislação brasileira estabelece três instrumentos para garantir a qualidade dos alimentos: a certificação, os sistemas participativos de garantia e o controle social para a venda direta sem certificação. Organizações de várias unidades da federação já solicitaram processo de regularização ao ministério. Segundo Rogério Dias, os interessados podem obter informações sobre legislação, cartilhas educativas para adequação aos novos regulamentos, formulários para cadastros e credenciamento no hot site prefira orgânicos e nas representações estaduais do ministério.

Os produtos e ingredientes orgânicos devem receber cuidados para assegurar sua qualidade. O coordenador sugere que sejam tomadas providências, como proteger os produtos orgânicos para que não se misturem com materiais e substâncias não permitidas, cumprir as exigências das legislações específicas e identificá-los para venda avulsa e por atacado.

O sistema orgânico de produção agropecuária conta com técnicas específicas, que dão prioridade ao uso dos recursos naturais e socioeconômicos disponíveis e respeitam a integridade cultural da comunidade. O método busca sustentabilidade econômica e ecológica, maximizando os benefícios sociais, diminuindo a dependência de energia não renovável, empregando, sempre que possível, métodos biológicos e mecânicos, evitando o uso de materiais sintéticos.

“A agricultura orgânica brasileira está caminhando para conquistar um mercado expressivo no país e no mundo”, afirma Rogério Dias. Segundo ele, a regulamentação é importante para a consolidação do setor e universalização dos orgânicos no Brasil.
