Inauguração da orla da praia de Atalaia é adiada

A população de Luís Correia, no litoral do Piauí, vai receber parte dos 1,8 mil metros do projeto de urbanização da orla da praia de Atalaia no dia 31 de dezembro de 2010, é o que diz o Governo do Estado.

Segundo os engenheiros da construtora responsável, no réveillon, os turistas e a população receberão cerca de 800 metros da orla, onde as obras já estão sendo finalizadas. No trecho estarão prontos o calçadão, o passeio do canteiro central, praça de eventos, parada de ônibus, 14 banheiros públicos e a iluminação, tanto da avenida como da praia.

Testado e aprovado, o sistema elétrico que garante a iluminação nas areias da praia de Atalaia possui 18 postes de fibra, mais resistentes à maresia, quatro deles com refletores duplos. No total são 22 refletores, cada um deles com 2.000 watts. Outras duas redes foram construídas, uma no passeio central da avenida e outra no calçadão.

A chegada a iluminação deu novo ânimo aos comerciantes de Atalaia. Alguns deles, inclusive, já estão abrindo suas barracas à noite, como é o caso de Carlos José Rodrigues, proprietário da barraca “Carlitus”. “Estou abrindo todas as noites e na sexta-feira tem música ao vivo, coisa impensável até dias atrás”, diz.

CULPA DO VENTO:

Nos últimos meses as obras voltaram a enfrentar dificuldades provocadas pela própria natureza. Com um vento mais forte, muita areia tem sido jogada sobre o calçadão e o canteiro central, tornando o serviço impraticável. Há dias em que são retirados do local cerca de 20 caminhões carregados de areia.

Outro problema é a falta de mão-de-obra qualificada para o que os engenheiros chamam de “trabalho mais fino”. São profissionais para trabalhar com cerâmica e azulejos, principalmente no acabamento dos banheiros públicos. A construtora foi obrigada a trazer trabalhadores de um de seus canteiros de obra em São Paulo, para manter o andamento da obra.

Quando concluída provavelmente em fevereiro de 2011, a orla da praia de Atalaia terá 1,8 mil metros de extensão, com pistas asfaltadas, 8 barracas, cada uma delas com 3 banheiros públicos – um masculino, um feminino e outro para portadores de deficiências físicas – duas praças de eventos, paradas de ônibus e estacionamento para 600 carros.
