Mercado de orgânicos cresce 15% ao ano no Brasil

No dia 1º de janeiro entra em vigor a Lei dos Orgânicos, instituindo um selo único e obrigatório para certificação oficial. O passo é importante para o setor, que tem crescido 15% ao ano. Além do aumento do consumo e exportações, outra prova do crescimento do setor são espaços exclusivos de venda que têm atraído o público em grandes cidades.

Em São Paulo há um supermercado que só vende produtos orgânicos, uma iniciativa inédita aqui na cidade e talvez até no Brasil. O local foi inaugurado há pouco mais de dois meses para atender uma demanda que não para de crescer. As vendas de produtos orgânicos aumentam em 15% a cada ano aqui no país. No ano passado, o setor movimentou cerca de R$ 300 milhões.

Consumidor de orgânicos há 10 anos, o proprietário do estabelecimento, Nardi Davidson, tinha dificuldade de encontrar em um mesmo lugar produtos diferenciados, livres de agrotóxicos. Foi aí que teve a idéia de abrir o supermercado.

A iniciativa favorece os agricultores que trabalham com orgânicos, que ganham novas opções para vender a produção. O horticultor Sebastião Aro de Oliveira planta mais de 40 tipos de hortaliças orgânicas em Ibiúna, interior paulista. Ele não se arrepende da decisão que tomou, há 10 anos, de sair do plantio convencional. Isso porque a demanda tem crescido, e muito, nos últimos anos.

Em Ibiúna, são cerca de cem agricultores orgânicos. A região é a principal produtora de hortaliças livres de agrotóxicos no Estado. O diretor da associação que reúne estes agricultores, Geraldo Gonçalves, conta que as vezes é difícil atender todos os pedidos.

No supermercado em São Paulo, Nardi Davidson, já comemora o resultado das vendas em apenas dois meses e está bastante otimista para o próximo ano.
