Marinha vai capacitar as tripulações brasileiras

Em reunião com o Almirante Júlio Soares de Moura Neto, Comandante da Marinha do Brasil, a Ministra da Pesca e Aquicultura Ideli Salvatti aproveitou as parcerias já existentes entre os dois órgãos para tratar de assuntos que irão desenvolver ainda mais a cadeia produtiva nacional. A audiência aconteceu ontem, quarta (12), no gabinete do Comando da Marinha, em Brasília.

Entre os tópicos abordados, Ideli Salvatti ressaltou a importância da Marinha em atuar na capacitação e no preparo das tripulações brasileiras, melhorando a segurança dos pescadores que enfrentam o mar para retirar o seu sustento. “Podemos aproveitar a experiência e o ensino profissional marítimo”, disse a ministra.

O potencial para desenvolvimento conjunto de pesquisa e tecnologia científica também foi consenso entre os dois órgãos, considerado prioritário para o desenvolvimento da cadeia produtiva nacional de pescado. “É um ministério novo com um potencial grande a ser trabalhado”, garantiu o comandante Moura Neto. Referindo-se a aquicultura, produção de pescado em cativeiro, o Almirante acrescentou ainda o grande potencial do país em produzir um alimento saudável com baixo custo e alto rendimento, social e econômico, para a população brasileira.

Para isso, medidas como a concessão de novas áreas aquícolas para a maricultura em Santa Catarina, por exemplo, também de competência da Marinha, deverão ser ampliadas em 2011. “Entregamos 30 processos dessa natureza no ano passado”, lembrou o Almirante.

A ampliação e o fortalecimento do PREPs – Programa Nacional de Rastreamento de Embarcações Pesqueiras por Satélite, executado em conjunto entre os ministérios da Pesca e Aquicultura, Marinha e Meio Ambiente obteve atenção dos ministros. Coordenado pelo MPA, o programa é usado para monitoramento, gestão pesqueira e controle das operações da frota pesqueira autorizadas pelo ministério, além do potencial em melhorar a segurança dos pescadores embarcados.

“Precisamos ampliar o número de embarcações monitoradas e incluir os barcos de menor porte para garantir maior segurança dos trabalhadores a bordo e melhorar a fiscalização contra pesca ilegal e predatória nas águas de nosso país”, finalizou a ministra.
