Entidades ambientalistas participaram na TV ECORURAL de debate interativo sobre a Mata Atlântica

Ambientalistas e Promotoria Pública do Estado participaram hoje (27) às 15 horas, no estúdio da TV ECORURAL, em Teresina, do debate interativo com os representantes do SOS Mata Atlântica, simultaneamente de São Paulo e Brasília para discutirem as questões que envolvem a Mata Atlântica no Piauí.

Tânia Martins (REAPI) e Dra. Carmem Almeida (Promotora do MInistério Público do Estado)

De acordo com a promotora de Justiça do Ministério Público do Estado, Dra. Carmem Almeida, a Mata Atlântica não está sendo aceita como bioma no Estado pela Secretaria de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos, que reduzem os biomas à caatinga e serrado.

“O Piauí, em especial Teresina está situado dentro de área de Mata Atlântica e deve ser respeitado como tal, dentro da Lei 11.428/2006, que é clara quanto ao seu uso e preservação”, acrescentou a Promotora.

“A Mata Atlântica, a Serra vermelha e nossa mata nativa não podem ser transformadas em carvão, a Secretaria de Meio Ambiente do estado não pode continuar vendendo licenças para destruição de nossos biomas”, desabafou Tânia Martins, Coordenadora da REAPI (Rede Ambiental do Piauí).

"Precisamos defender nossos biomas, a Mata Atlântica é um deles", afirmou Soares, Presidente da FURPA.
