Responsabilidade ambiental direciona ações da Agespisa em 2011

A questão ambiental está na pauta da Agespisa para 2011. Em reunião realizada entre o governador Wilson Martins e os gestores estaduais das áreas de infraestrutura e ambiente, o presidente da companhia, Marcos Venícios Costa, anunciou uma série de medidas focadas na redução do desperdício e na responsabilidade ambiental.

Uma das primeiras metas da empresa para este ano é a instalação de 15 geradores nas estações elevatórias de tratamento de esgoto em Teresina. A instalação dos equipamentos visa a proteção do rio Poti. A iniciativa é uma medida preventiva, para evitar problemas que possam surgir caso ocorra falta de energia por um longo período na região das estações elevatórias.

“Com os geradores, as bombas que direcionam o esgoto para a lagoa de tratamento não ficam à mercê do abastecimento de energia. Isso evita que, diante de uma falta de energia por longo período, o bombeamento seja interrompido e ocorra o lançamento de algum resíduo de esgoto nos mananciais do rio. Vale destacar que quando a falta de energia é momentânea, esse risco não existe”, explicou Marcos Venícios. De acordo com o presidente da Agespisa, a compra dos geradores já foi licitada e a companhia aguarda a chegada dos equipamentos para iniciar a instalação.

A empresa também prossegue com ações para evitar o desperdício de água. A meta para os próximos 180 dias é atingir 95% das residências de Teresina com medição do hidrômetro. Já no mês de janeiro, a empresa também assinou um convênio com a Companhia de Água e Esgoto do Ceará (Cagece), para adotar um novo modelo de gestão, que reduza a perda de água tratada produzida pela Agespisa, dos atuais 50% para um índice próximo dos 20%.

“Esse convênio também inclui a realização de treinamentos, comandados por técnicos da Cagece, que capacitem nosso pessoal para identificar a presença de ‘gatos’ na rede de abastecimento, evitando o desvio fraudulento de água”, destacou Marcos Venícios.
