Um grupo de tigres em um zoológico nos Estados Unidos mostrou que nem todos os felinos querem distância de água.

O número aquático dos tigres vem fazendo sucesso no Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Zoo, que fica próximo de San Francisco.

Oding, um tigre-de-bengala branco de nove anos, é o líder do grupo, ao lado de Fedor, um tigre siberiano de seis anos que também é um ótimo nadador.

As outras 'estrelas' do show são Nalin e Akasha, também tigres-de-bengala, e Mischa e Maksim, dois tigre siberianos filhotes, que têm apenas oito meses.

"Eles adoram mergulhar na piscina", disse Nancy Chan, que trabalha no zoológico.

"Tudo começou há alguns anos, quando percebemos que um dos nossos tigres, o Kuma, gostava muito de pular na água."

"Outros começaram a copiá-lo e agora todos os tigres gostam de nadar", conta Chan.

Ela explica que às vezes pedaços de carne são lançados na água para atrair os tigres, mas normalmente eles não precisam de nenhum incentivo.

"O público adora. Por causa do show, os tigres são os animais mais populares do zoológico."
