Pesquisador quer usar modelo da Serra da Capivara para criar parque em MG

O norte de Minas Gerais apresenta muitas semelhanças com o Nordeste como o clima semi-árido e a vegetação. Com o Piauí, a região possui ainda uma característica bem peculiar: o fato de ter sido habitado por povos antigos que deixaram as marcas de suas presenças registradas nas rochas. Na intenção de preservar estes sítios arqueológicos o pesquisador e acadêmico de História Thiago Pereira veio ao Piauí buscar o exemplo do Parque Nacional da Serra da Capivara para tentar sensibilizar as autoridades mineiras a criar uma unidade semelhante no município de Jequitaí.

Pereira é bolsista do programa de iniciação científica da Universidade estadual de Montes Claros (Unimontes) e não esconde sua admiração pelo exemplo do parque piauiense. “O parque da Serra da Capivara recebeu em dezembro de 2010, medalha de ouro, do instituto internacional Herity International Institute pelo trabalho de preservação deixando cidades como Zaragosa na Espanha e Nápoles na itália em 2º e 3º, além de um prêmio, que Dra. Guidon recebeu pelo 60º da Unesco. Ou Seja, o parque é modelo de preservação internacional”, conta.

Tomando o Piauí como referência, o mineiro quer incrementar seu trabalho e tentar sensibilizar autoridades de seu Estado sobre a importância de preservar o sítio arqueológico Lapa Pintada. “O sítio fica a aproximadamente 2,5 km de distância do centro de Jequitaí, ainda no perímetro urbano e possui uma significativa de inscrições. Nossa intenção é que ele seja considerado um bem patrimonial, tombado pelo menos a nível estadual”, pontua.

Segundo o pesquisador a falta de infra-estrutura e segurança já fez com que parte das pinturas fossem alvo de vandalismo. “Proponho conjuntos de procedimento para educar a população, o que já ocorre no parque do Piauí. Ações que incentivem cada vez mais os estudos e que promova o ecoturismo, como proposta de desenvolvimento social como faz a FUMDHAM”, declara Thiago Pereira.
