Curso de Capacitação de Mudança no Clima reúne diferentes setores no Piauí

Hoje (22) pela manhã, durante o primeiro dia do Curso de Capacitação de Mudanças do Clima mais de cem pessoas assistiram aulas do curso que abordou a Ciência do Clima e as Fontes de emissões de gases de Efeito estufa (GEE). O curso é organizado pelo Fórum Brasileiro de Mudanças Climáticas (FBMC), em parceria com a PETROBRAS S/A e o Fórum Estadual de Mudanças Climáticas e Combate à Pobreza do Piauí, através da Secretaria Estadual do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos – SEMAR.

O curso que prossegue até o dia 23, vem sendo realizado em todo o país. No Piauí, o objetivo do fórum é capacitar gestores públicos, acadêmicos e representantes de outros setores para que as políticas públicas locais sejam direcionadas segundo essas questões. A carga-horária total é 40 horas, dividida em duas etapas: a primeira de 20h com aulas presenciais e a segunda de 20h com aulas e acompanhamento ministrados à distância.

De acordo com Gilvan Sampaio, pesquisador do INPE, "é necessário que a sociedade conheça os processos climatológicos para entender melhor a forma como as mudanças percebidas no clima da terra tem acelerado o ciclo hidrológico provocando catástrofes naturais e redesenhando outros cenários", disse.

O Fórum Brasileiro de Mudanças Climáticas foi criado pelo Decreto nº 3.515. de 20 de junho de 2000 e tem por objetivo conscientizar e mobilizar a sociedade para a discussão e tomada de posição sobre os problemas decorrentes da mudança do clima por gases de efeito estufa, bem como sobre o Mecanismo de Desenvolvimento Limpo (MDL) definido no Artigo 12 do Protocolo de Quioto à Convenção-Quadro das Nações Unidas sobre Mudança do Clima. O Fórum deve auxiliar o governo na incorporação das questões sobre mudanças climáticas nas diversas etapas das políticas públicas.

"A queima de combustíveis fósseis aparece majoritariamente como emissora de gases de efeito estufa, e não adianta investir apenas em eficiência energética, a redução do consumo é que tem que ser pensada também", acrescentou Alberto Vilela, pesquisador da COPPE/ UFRJ.
