Teresina encerrou a primeira etapa do Curso de Mudanças Climáticas

O Fórum de Mudanças Climáticas concluiu ontem (23) a etapa presencial do Curso de Capacitação de Mudanças do Clima em Teresina. O curso era direcionado para 50 pessoas, mas obteve um número de 124 participantes, que teve a fase presencial de 20 horas e continua com mais 20 horas em plataforma virtual e acompanhada pela equipe do Fórum Brasileiro de Mudanças Climáticas.

Segundo Rodrigo Ribas, pesquisador da COPPE/UFRJ e integrante do Fórum Brasileiro de Mudanças Climáticas, o curso objetiva capacitar os atores sociais e ampliar as discussões à cerca das questões que envolvem as mudanças do clima e contribuir na elaboração de políticas públicas que contemplem as causas de preservação ambiental e redução das emissões de gases de efeito estufa.

“O Brasil se comprometeu em reduzir suas emissões de CO2, que na maioria vem do uso do solo e do desmatamento, o que inclui a participação de todos os estados brasileiros. O Piauí embora possua uma ampla área preservada, também precisa contribuir para a redução dessas emissões, mantendo suas matas em pé e elaborando políticas públicas que visem a preservação dos recursos naturais ou uso sustentável”, acrescentou Rodrigo Ribas.

Para Fernanda Moita, diretora de Meio Ambiente da SEMAR, o Piauí tem 80% de suas matas preservadas, o que significa um bom estado de preservação, mas precisa cuidar dos recursos naturais de forma sustentável, que possa garantir os recursos para as próximas gerações.

“O curso vai ajudar a difundir melhor as informações em todos os setores da sociedade piauiense, contribuindo para despertar a conscientização e a sensibilização à cerca dos problemas ambientais, despertando mudanças de comportamento, de atitudes enfim, ampliará consideravelmente as discussões sobre o tema, frisou Fernanda Moita.
