Descobertas da equipe de Niéde Guidon na região de São Raimundo Nonato ganham repercussão nacional

Mais uma vez os trabalhos científicos e sociais desenvolvidos pela equipe da arqueóloga paulista Niéde Guidon, da Fundação Museu do Homem Americano (FUMDHAM), dão visibilidade ao estado do Piauí de uma forma positiva. Para quem sempre esteve na mídia em função do subdesenvolvimento, da corrupção política, das constantes secas ou da miséria, ser reconhecido pela produção de ciência no interior do Piauí é uma grande mudança para o Piauí.

E foi isso que a Globo News levou ao ar ontem em cadeia nacional, um Piauí positivo, que gera ciência, que traz a tona descobertas incríveis, que gera empregos e renda de uma forma sustentável. Chamado de “Especial Megafauna”, o programa deu destaque as descobertas paleontológicas da Lagoa dos Porcos, na zona rural do município de São Lourenço do Piauí, nas proximidades do Parque Nacional Serra da Capivara.

Com 20 minutos de duração, a matéria assinada pelo repórter da TV Globo, Francisco José, um apaixonado pela natureza do Piauí, mostrou em detalhes todo o trabalho de resgate dos fósseis de animais da megafauna que viveram no Piauí há milhares de anos. A produção foi do repórter André Pessoa, que também tem se dedicado nos últimos anos a produzir matérias que mostrem as belezas e problemas ambientais do Piauí, principalmente em revistas, jornais e emissoras de televisão.

Um dos destaques do programa foi quando a pesquisadora Niéde Guidon, que tem quase 40 anos dedicados as pesquisas na região da Serra da Capivara, confirmou a existência de Mata Atlântica no interior do Piauí e chegou a afirmar que toda aquela área do semi-árido já foi floresta tropical até alguns milênios.
