Governo garante recursos para conclusão do Porto de Luís Correia

Os recursos para a segunda etapa da obra do Porto de Luís Correia já estão garantidos pelo Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC), a afirmação é do governador Wilson Martins. Desde segunda-feira (28), os operários trabalham na parte de ampliação e alargamento do píer.

Na primeira etapa construída, o porto tinha capacidade para suportar navios de até 30 mil toneladas, com a ampliação o porto terá capacidade de suportar navios de até 70 mil toneladas, o que equivale a 70% da frota que circula no Brasil. O projeto do porto ainda abre uma possibilidade futura de outra ampliação para navios maiores.

Os recursos são uma garantia de continuação da obra. “O Porto de Luís Correia não vai parar, pelo contrário, a ideia é acelerar os serviços, já temos os recursos garantidos para as etapas que virão”, disse o governador Wilson Martins.

O engenheiro responsável pela obra, George Zeferino, disse que a meta é finalizar até setembro esta etapa de ampliação do píer. Com a conclusão da etapa de alargamento, o próximo passo será a de dragagem. “Nesse momento estamos com o calado em torno de 7 metros e vamos lançar para 12,5 metros na maré mínima. Esses 12,5 metros vão ter essa capacidade desses navios de até 70 metros entrarem tranquilamente com até 70 mil toneladas”, explica.

Zeferino: a meta é finalizar até setembro

O engenheiro explica ainda que a obra do Porto de Luís Correia está à frente da etapa prevista. “Às vezes, a pessoa passa pelo porto e vê poucos funcionários para o tamanho que a obra representa. Estamos trabalhando com 60 operários, a questão é o maquinário que usamos, isso é importante, mais funcionários do que isso para essa etapa do porto seria desperdício, isso não acarreta nos prazos e nem nos valores”.

O Porto de Luís Correia é fundamental para o projeto de desenvolvimento e estruturação do Governo do Estado. Com a instalação da Zona de Processamento de Exportação (ZPE) em Parnaíba, o porto se torna obra prioritária para alavancar as exportações no Piauí. O presidente da Companhia Administradora da ZPE de Parnaíba, Mirocles Veras, explica que a ideia é, em poucos anos, dobrar as exportações no Estado. “Oferecendo estrutura e boas condições para as indústrias que irão se instalar no Piauí, já temos empresas interessadas em se instalar na ZPE de Parnaíba. É uma realidade. Agora, para tudo ir em frente precisamos oferecer infraestrutura adequada na cidade, para comportar essas empresas”, afirma Mirocles.
