Ministério Público pede criação do Parque de Serra Vermelha

O Procurador da República no Piauí, Tranvanvan Feitosa, está ingressando com uma Ação Civil Pública contra o Ministério do Meio Ambiente-MMA, para proteger a região da Serra Vermelha, no Sul do Estado, que ficou fora da ampliação do Parque Nacional Serra das Confusões, em dezembro último. O argumento do procurador tem origem nos relatórios assinados por técnicos do próprio MMA , que deixam claro a importância biológica para a conservação e proteção da área.

Segundo Tranvanvan Feitosa, o fato do projeto elaborado na Secretaria Estadual do Meio Ambiente do Piaúi-SEMAR, ter excluído a área significa que pode ter ocorido favorecimento a empresa JB Carbon, que tem a posse da terra e vinha explorando-a de forma predatória. Para o movimento ambiental, a atitude do MP é de extrema relevância já que consideram que durante o processo houve uma série de erros e indícios de corrupção, entre elas, a aprovação, pelo Governo Federal de R$ 150 milhões, pela incorporação de cerca de 300 mil hectares de terras estaduais para o domínio da União.

Ocorre que mesmo sem cumprir as regras legais estabelecidas para a transação, como a prévia aprovação da Assembléia Legislativa, em dezembro passado foi repassado R$ 50 milhões como primeira parcela. Porém, recentemente, ao tentar a liberação da segunda parcela, o governo do Piauí foi surpreendido com o bloqueio do dinheiro pela Casa Civil, que, enfim, resolveu reparar o erro de não exigir a documentação prevista em lei. Entre eles, vender terras estaduais sem a autorização da Assembléia Legislativa.

Conforme os ambientalistas, o erro se repetiu com o levantamento fundiário não realizado. O presidente da Fundação Rio Parnaíba, Francisco Soares, acredita na existência de uma negociata envolvendo o presidente do ICMBio, Rômulo Melo, deputados da bancada do Piauí e o governo do Estado, para proteger empresários donos de projetos na Serra Vermelha.
