Vigilância Sanitária alerta consumidor sobre alimentos da Semana Santa

A Vigilância Sanitária do Piauí está reforçando a fiscalização no período da quaresma e alertando o consumidor. É nesta época que antecede a Semana Santa, que o consumo de peixe e outros alimentos perecíveis aumenta em todo o Estado.

É preciso ter muito cuidado na hora de comprar os alimentos. O peixe, por exemplo, pode ser comercializado em locais que não oferece higiene, além de não possuírem registro sanitário.

“Já enviamos ofícios a todos os municípios para que reforcem a inspeção no período e oferecendo apoio técnico a algum que necessite”, diz Vânia Correia, coordenadora de alimentos, da Diretoria de Vigilância Sanitária.

Para o consumidor, Vânia faz alguns alertas na hora de comprar alimentos. “Nesse período, é comum encontrar vendedores de rua sem o devido registro. É ideal que o consumidor procure estabelecimentos registrados que ofereçam condições físicas adequadas e manipulação correta. Os peixes frescos devem ter cheiro e textura próprios e escamas íntegras e firmes. Os olhos também precisam ser observados. O bacalhau deve ser inspecionado pelo Ministério da Saúde e os industrializados, como a sardinha, precisam estar na validade e ter embalagem íntegra”, explica.

Os cuidados implicam na prevenção de infecções alimentares. Seus principais sintomas são náusea, vômito, diarreia, febre alta entre outros.
