Pássaros silvestres nativos são apreendidos no Paraná

Cerca de 120 pássaros silvestres nativos de criadores amadores foram apreendidos na região metropolitana de Curitiba nesta última semana. A Operação Sispass Legal, do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis, Ibama, aplicou multas a criadores que chegaram a R$ 70 mil.

A operação do Ibama fiscalizou 13 criadores amadores cadastrados no instituto e em oito foram encontradas infrações ambientais, dentre elas aves sem identificação ambiental e aves com registros adulterados.

As aves em situação irregular foram encaminhadas para o Centro de Triagem de Animais Silvestres mantido pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, PUC-PR, em Tijucas do Sul, na região metropolitana de Curitiba.

Para criar pássaros silvestres nativos é necessário cadastrar o animal no Sistema de Cadastramentos de Passeriformes (Sispass) do Ibama. Somente a comercialização destes animais é vedada aos criadores amadores que possuem autorização.

Segundo a assessoria de imprensa do Ibama, a operação de fiscalização deve continuar nos próximos dias. A criação de animais silvestres em cativeiro sem autorização do Ibama é crime ambiental passível de multa, apreensão dos animais e processo criminal.
