Entre os emergentes, Brasil é 2o no ranking de investimento em energia limpa

Quem está vencendo a corrida pela energia limpa? Essa é a questão levantada pelo relatório da ONG norte-americana Pew Charitable Trusts, lançado na última terça-feira (29/3). Intitulado ‘Who’s Winning the Clean Energy Race?’ o documento traz o ranking dos países que mais receberam investimentos para a área de energias renováveis em 2010.

O Brasil aparece em sexto lugar, uma posição acima do que em 2009, com o total recebido de 7,6 bilhões de dólares e cerca de 14 gigawatts (GW) de energia renovável gerada. Das chamadas economias emergentes, o país só perde para a China, campeã da lista com um saldo de 54,4 bilhões de dólares (cerca de um quinto de todo o dinheiro encaminhado para fontes renováveis).

Como pode ser observado no gráfico 1, a distribuição do investimento por setor energético no Brasil, entre os anos de 2005 e 2010 concentraram-se mais nos biocombustíveis e na energia eólica.

O documento destaca, ainda, a queda de posição sofrida pelos Estados Unidos, que passou a ser o terceiro lugar no ranking, com 34 bilhões de dólares. Uma das explicações para esse fato seria o afastamento de investidores pela não aprovação da lei energética pelo Congresso no ano passado.

Em relação aos países da Europa, o Reino Unido sofreu a maior queda, passando de terceiro lugar, em 2009, para 13º, em 2010 (recebeu apenas US$ 3,3 bilhões). Mesmo assim, a União Europeia ficaria em primeiro lugar, com US$ 94 bilhões, se fosse considerada como um destino único de investimentos. Isso porque as políticas públicas de incentivo e de metas na área de energias limpas na região são muito valorizadas.
