Embrapa lança site científico voltado para o público infantil

Proporcionar conteúdo científico de qualidade às crianças brasileiras por meio de uma linguagem adaptada ao público infantil é o principal objetivo do site Contando Ciência na Web, iniciativa lançada no início de abril pela Embrapa (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária), instituição vinculada ao Ministério da Agricultura.

O site reúne algumas das principais tecnologias de cada centro de pesquisa da Embrapa. Esses centros são apresentados em formatos variados, como jogos e livros virtuais, com linguagem adaptada ao público infantil. Para desenvolver a ferramenta na internet, equipes multidisciplinares de profissionais estiveram envolvidas no projeto durante cerca de dois anos. Segundo o órgão, foram testadas as formas mais adequadas de organização das informações para melhor entendimento de parte do público-alvo desejado.

Além das crianças, os testes contaram com o acompanhamento de uma comissão de especialistas e de pesquisadores do Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia, da Universidade de Brasília (UnB) e da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC).

A principal característica do site é a interatividade. Cada item do menu é gerido por uma unidade da Embrapa. Nas sessões “Você sabia?”, “Conheça a Embrapa”, “Brinque com Ciência”, “Biblioteca” e o “Glossário” é possível aprender um pouco mais sobre o universo científico e o mundo da pesquisa. Já no “Bloguinho”, as crianças podem trocar ideias com pesquisadores sobre diversos temas.

Entre alguns dos temas abordados no site, estão a importância da destinação adequada do lixo, preservação da biodiversidade e outros assuntos relacionados ao desenvolvimento sustentável.
