CPFL Energias Renováveis nasce como gigante do setor

Uma empresa recém-criada já pode ser considerada uma gigante do setor energético. Esse é o caso da CPFL Energias Renováveis S.A., anunciada oficialmente na quarta-feira, 20 de abril, depois de uma fusão entre a CPFL Energia e a Ersa Energias Renováveis, a partir da associação dos ativos das duas empresas em Pequenas Centrais Hidrelétricas (PCHs), parques eólicos e usinas termelétricas à biomassa.

A nova companhia já nasce como uma das maiores da América Latina no segmento de geração de energia a partir de fontes renováveis, com 648 MW de potência instalada em operação (posição estimada em agosto de 2011, quando da conclusão da operação), 386 MW em construção e 3.341 MW de portfólio em preparação para construção ou desenvolvimento, totalizando 4.375 MW de potência.

Tal portfólio permitirá à empresa superar a marca dos 2 mil MW de potência instalada nesse tipo de fonte em cinco anos. Já em 2013, a capacidade instalada deverá atingir 1.174 MW, um crescimento superior a 80%, com a entrada em operação de projetos em fase de construção.

A CPFL Energia será a acionista majoritária da nova empresa, com participação de 63,6%. Os atuais acionistas da Ersa terão 36,4% de controle. De acordo com o presidente da CPFL Energia, Wilson Ferreira Jr., “a associação é resultado de decisão estratégica de criar um veículo exclusivo e diferenciado em geração de energia renovável”.

“A união das operações da Ersa e da CPFL é o ponto de partida para que a nova empresa, que já nasce líder em seu segmento, implemente planos ambiciosos de crescimento na geração de energia por meio de fontes alternativas como energia eólica, biomassa e PCHs”, destacou o presidente do Conselho de Administração da Ersa, Otávio Castello Branco.

Segundo matéria publicada no caderno Economia&Negócios, do jornal O Estado de S.Paulo, para crescer no novo negócio, há mais de um ano a CPFL vem buscando no mercado operações que garantam não apenas ativos, como também conhecimento na área de energias renováveis. Na última semana, a própria CPFL anunciou a compra da Siif Énergies, dona de quatro usinas eólicas em operação no Ceará e de vários outros projetos, por R$ 1,5 bilhão. Ao todo, a empresa já investiu R$ 3 bilhões em energia eólica.

Essas aquisições permitiram que a CPFL alcançasse o posto de segunda maior geradora privada do país, ao ultrapassar a americana AES. A empresa é líder no setor de distribuição de energia, com 13% do mercado, e também na comercialização, com 21% de participação.

A Ersa entraria inteira, com 18 PCHs e 11 parques eólicos já em operação, em construção ou ainda na fase de projetos. Segundo o Estadão, trata-se de uma empresa nova, com pouco mais de três anos de atividade, e que vem sendo construída por um grupo de investidores arregimentados pela gestora de recursos Pátria, que cuida da gestão do negócio.
