SEMAR autua carvoarias e totaliza multas em R$ 1.7 milhão

A maior operação já realizada pela equipe de fiscalização da Secretaria Estadual do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos - SEMAR, aplicou em 25 carvoarias da região Sul do Piauí, um total de multas no valor de R$ 1.750.000,00. A operação batizada de Castelo de Barro foi realizada após denúncias e constatações de irregularidades, principalmente com relação ao descumprimento da legislação ambiental. A fiscalização teve como objetivo evitar o desmatamento exclusivo para a produção de carvão, sem haver uso do solo para atividades agrícolas.

Uma equipe formada por dez fiscais com o apoio da Polícia Militar Ambiental percorreu os municípios, onde eram localizadas carvoarias que estavam atuando de maneira irregular no Estado. Essas carvoarias estavam mais concentradas nas cidades de Curimatá, Morro Cabeça no Tempo, Júlio Borges, Avelino Lopes, Parnaguá, Riacho Frio, São Gonçalo do Gurguéia, Canto do Buriti e Itaueira.

De acordo com relatório concluído pela SEMAR, foram encontradas irregularidades em 07 empreendimentos levando a lavratura de 11 Autos de Infração e 06 embargos. As multas chegam ao valor de R$ 1.750.000,00 pelas seguintes irregularidades: 04 por fornecimento de informações falsas no sistema DOF, 05 por instalar atividade em desacordo com a autorização obtida (ausência de uso alternativo do solo), 01 por instalar atividade sem licença ambiental (área agrícola sem licença), e 01 por carbonizar espécies em desacordo com a autorização obtida.

Segundo o secretário Dalton Macambira, o relatório final será encaminhado aos ministérios públicos federal e estadual e ao IBAMA. “Esta ação, faz parte de nossas metas para este ano de 2011, visando o fortalecimento do monitoramento e fiscalização ambiental do Estado. Estamos agindo em todo o Estado do Piauí e a colaboração da sociedade tem contribuído muito para alcançarmos êxito. Uma nova fiscalização está sendo executada em outras regiões do Estado”, garantiu Dalton Macambira.
