Certificação ecológica ganha rótulos de pescados para atuar no mercado mundial

A crescente demanda por produtos certificados nas gôndolas dos supermercados sinaliza a tendência mundial de consumidores e, também, empregadores, que defendem o crescimento sustentado, fortemente presente na produção e comercialização de alimentos, uma realidade em vários mercados mundiais, como nos norte americanos e europeus. A prática, já adotada por várias marcas de pescados e frutos do mar comercializados em mercados externos, chega a ser prerrogativa para ganhar o gosto dos principais compradores das redes globais de supermercados.

A discussão ganhou a agenda da ministra da Pesca e Aquicultura Ideli Salvatti, que recebeu na tarde desta segunda-feira (25/04) o dirigente da MSC, Laurent Viguié. A organização é uma das que atua como agente do programa de certificação ecológica de centenas de produtos que já conquistaram o gosto de consumidores internacionais, e chega ao país disseminando os procedimentos e conceitos ao mercado brasileiro. Já existem, segundo o dirigente da ONG, em fase de implantação, projetos pioneiros na Amazônia e no litoral cearense, como o processo de certificação da lagosta e, em Manaus (AM), análise para a concessão do selo ecológico em espécies típicas da região amazônica, como o Pirarucu.

Os selos são investimentos empresariais que entram como peso importante na formação de preço, com ganhos no valor final do produto, já que aliam segurança alimentar com consumo sustentado. Além do valor agregado, existem critérios que estabelecem programas de aperfeiçoamento do produto, além da origem, com técnicas de rastreabilidade que vai da captura, até a análise de impacto ambiental e gestão, além do processamento dos produtos que chegam à mesa dos consumidores.

A ministra Ideli Salvatti lembrou a importância de estabelecer diálogos com os agentes não governamentais, como da MSC, e dar conhecimento das ações aos produtores brasileiros que estão também se capacitando e certificando para se adaptar ao cenário atual, na busca pelo desenvolvimento organizado e sustentado, como as ações já implantadas por marcas mundiais. "Nós temos acompanhado o esforço das empresas em fazer a certificação. Nossa prioridade é produzir mais e importar menos", salientou a ministra.

Os rótulos certificados são concedidos após análise das regras para a preservação de espécies no mundo. Os grupos travam etapas de análise para promover a melhor escolha ambiental em frutos do mar, até garantir a rotulagem ecológica. O enfoque segue critérios da FAO, estabelecidos em três eixos: a sustentabilidade das espécies, os impactos dos ecossistemas e nas boas práticas de gestão.
