Embrapa Meio-Norte lança site Contando Ciência na Web

Ontem (26/04) pela manhã 60 crianças da Escola Municipal Santa Maria da Codipi, em Teresina - PI, participaram do lançamento do Site Contando Ciência na Web, uma iniciativa da Embrapa Informação Tecnológica, que tem como principal objetivo apresentar os resultados da pesquisa agropecuária para o público infanto-juvenil.

Durante o evento, os estudantes assistiram a palestra "A importância das abelhas", apresentada pela pesquisadora da Embrapa Meio-Norte, Fábia de Mello Pereira. Em seguida, as crianças e adolescentes conheceram o site, seus personagens e os principais tópicos do Contando Ciência na Web, como o Bloguinho, o Brinque com Ciência, a Biblioteca e o Você Sabia. Após as apresentações, os alunos receberam kits de jogos educativos e potes de mel.

Em seguida, a equipe da Embrapa Meio-Norte serviu suco de manga e caju no pátio da escola para todos os alunos. O conteúdo do site, que reúne algumas das principais tecnologias de cada centro de pesquisa, é apresentado em formatos variados, como jogos e livros virtuais, com linguagem adaptada a públicos mais jovens, porém não menos exigentes. Durante o mês de abril quando é comemorado o aniversário da Embrapa -, estão sendo promovidas em todas as Unidades da Embrapa atividades motivadas pelos temas do site, com turmas de estudantes de escolas públicas e particulares, assim como de instituições de ensino especial. Essa foi uma das preocupações da equipe responsável pela concepção do conteúdo: garantir a mesma oportunidade de acesso ao conhecimento para pessoas portadoras de deficiências visuais, motoras e de aprendizagem, graças a recursos adaptados às suas necessidades.

Para desenvolver o site Contando Ciência na Web, equipes multidisciplinares de profissionais estiveram envolvidas durante cerca de dois anos. Foram testadas as melhores formas de organização das informações, com a preocupação de atualizar as características consideradas fundamentais em sites infantojuvenis, como as cores, a presença de personagens e as possibilidades de interatividade. Além disso, as próprias crianças tiveram a oportunidade de opinar e sugerir melhorias no conteúdo do site.

Duas etapas de testes foram realizadas com a presença de alunos convidados, a maioria deles filhos de empregados lotados nas Unidades do Distrito Federal. Os testes contaram ainda com o acompanhamento de uma comissão de especialistas e de pesquisadores do Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia, da Universidade de Brasília (UnB) e da Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC). A liderança do projeto, aprovado pelo Macroprograma 4, é da empregada da Embrapa Informação Tecnológica, Maria Regina Fiuza.
