Assad defende matriz energética cada vez mais limpa

O setor energético é responsável por 16% das emissões nacionais de gases de efeito estufa, mesmo sendo o Brasil considerado mundialmente como um País de matriz limpa, ou seja, de baixo impacto ambiental. Essa posição, porém, deve ficar ainda mais confortável, com a execução de projetos do Ministério do Meio Ambiente para a geração de energia por meio de recursos renováveis.

"Queremos uma matriz energética cada vez mais limpa", enfatizou o secretário de Mudanças Climáticas e Qualidade Ambiental, do MMA, Eduardo Assad, nesta quarta-feira (28/4), no Fórum Nacional de Energia e Meio Ambiente, promovido em Brasília pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Ação Responsável, no Senado Federal.

Representando a ministra Izabella Teixeira, Assad citou aos parlamentares e empresários que o Fundo Nacional sobre Mudança do Clima (FNMC) prevê linhas de financiamento que vão contribuir para que o País alcance metas otimistas. "Temos 8 mil quilômetros de costa e ainda não temos aproveitamento das ondas do mar para geração de energia", comentou o secretário.

O FNMC, coordenado pelo MMA, tem disponível no orçamento da União R$ 233 milhões em recursos reembolsáveis e não reembolsáveis para projetos de economia de baixo carbono. Entre as prioridades de financiamento estão o desenvolvimento tecnológico e cadeia produtiva de energia solar.

Para as regiões sem acesso ao sistema interligado de energia elétrica, especialmente no Nordeste, Norte e Centro-Oeste, estão previstas linhas de crédito para projetos de geração e distribuição local de energia renovável (eólica, solar, biomassa e marés).

O secretário Assad ainda citou os investimentos previstos para fornos mais eficientes na produção de carvão vegetal. Esse é um dos vilões de danos ambientais e sociais.

Ao lado do secretário, o senador Cícero Lucena enfatizou que o Brasil "é destaque em energia limpa", mas que tem recursos a serem explorados "para avançar ainda mais". Ele preside a Globe Brasil, que compõe a Organização Mundial de Legisladores para um Meio Ambiente Equilibrado (Globe Internacional).

Também esteve no fórum, o presidente da Comissão de Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável da Câmara Federal, deputado Giovani Cherini. Ele comentou que a comissão está em fase de grandes debates sobre a questão ambiental, como biodiversidade, energias renováveis e está em andamento o programa Carbono Zero, em que o Legislativo se propõe a plantar 34 mil árvores por ano.
