Seminário do MPA aborda aspectos da pesca artesanal, industrial, da aquicultura e da pesca amadora

Começa nesta quarta-feira, dia 4, e prossegue até sexta o Seminário de Planejamento Estratégico do Ministério da Pesca e Aquicultura, em Brasília, que definirá as diretrizes da pasta para o quadriênio 2012-2015. A programação do seminário, organizado pela secretaria executiva do ministério, reflete a diversidade e a complexidade da cadeia produtiva do setor de pesca e aqüicultura nacional, que emprega e gera renda para milhares de brasileiros. Na metodologia, os organizadores trabalham para aproximar as terminologias adotadas pelo Plano Plurianual (PPA) do governo federal.

Serão abordados aspectos da pesca artesanal, da pesca industrial, da aquicultura e da pesca amadora, que muitas vezes compartilham os mesmos espaços hídricos, no continente e no mar. Cada modalidade também lida com espécies comuns ou diferentes, considerando a grande biodiversidade brasileira em termos de peixes, crustáceos e moluscos. Assim, os sistemas de manejo, captura, beneficiamento, transporte e comercialização, no caso da produção, exigem técnicas e apoio também muitas vezes diferenciados. Já a pesca amadora conta com modalidades próprias, como a pesca esportiva e a subaquática, que precisam ser incentivadas, por representarem importante atrativo econômico e turístico em diferentes regiões do País.

As diretrizes do MPA para os próximos anos devem contemplar o desenvolvimento dos diversos segmentos com sustentabilidade social, econômica e ambiental. Temas novos, como a pesca e a aquicultura ornamentais, importantes para a Amazônia e estados como Minas Gerais, também estão incluídos.

O seminário, que contará com a presença da ministra Ideli Salvatti, faz parte do planejamento estratégico do ministério. O evento terá a participação de representantes das quatro secretarias da pasta: Secretaria de Planejamento e Ordenamento da Pesca, Secretaria de Planejamento e Ordenamento da Aquicultura, Secretaria de Monitoramento e Controle da Pesca e Aquicultura e Secretaria de Infraestrutura e Fomento da Pesca e Aquicultura. Estas secretarias foram estabelecidas no próprio ato de criação do ministério, em meados de 2009. A partir do ano passado, o MPA também passou a gerir a pesca amadora brasileira. Desde então, realizou o primeiro encontro nacional do segmento e definiu sua representação no Conselho Nacional de Pesca e Aquicultura, além de já estar atualizando a sua legislação pertinente.
