Setur faz nova licitação para Urbanizar Açude Joana em Pedro II

A Secretaria de Turismo do Piauí realizará na sexta-feira (06) a abertura da licitação para contratação de empresa para executar a urbanização turística da orla do açude Joana, em Pedro II. Segundo o secretário de Turismo, Sílvio Leite, a obra foi licitada uma vez, mas a empresa ganhadora do certame não cumpriu o prazo de entrega da obra e teve o contrato rescindido.

“Essa obra foi licitada em dezembro de 2010 e deveria ser entregue 120 dias após a assinatura da ordem de serviço, mas, com dois meses de andamento, os engenheiros da Setur detectaram que apenas 8% do serviço haviam sido executados. Tivemos a coragem de rescindir o contrato com a construtora e vamos realizar nova licitação”, explica.

Depois de urbanizado, o açude Joana, a 220 quilômetros de Teresina, se transformará numa das principais atrações turísticas do Estado. Em parceria com o Governo Federal, através do Ministério do Turismo e do Programa de Desenvolvimento do Turismo no Nordeste (Prodetur), o Governo do Piauí está investindo R$ 1,9 milhão na urbanização da orla e já está em fase de conclusão a construção e pavimentação da avenida paralela ao açude, que terá nova pista com paisagismo e iluminação, onde estão sendo investidos R$ 1,5 milhão.

O conjunto formado pela avenida e pela orla urbanizada contará com quiosques, banheiros, pista de cooper, calçadão e ciclovias, estacionamento, pista de acesso e píer, este último para incentivar a prática de esportes nas águas do açude.
