MPA tem o aval do BNDES para o fortalecimento da aquicultura na Amazônia Legal

A ministra da Pesca e Aqüicultura, Ideli Salvatti, recebeu ontem, segunda-feira (09/03), o aval do BNDES, Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social, para o financiamento de projetos regionais para fomentar a pesca e a aquicultura nos nove estados que compõem a Amazônia legal. O Banco, que gerencia o Fundo da Amazônia, também chamou a atenção para a alta rentabilidade do setor pesqueiro. De acordo com o chefe do Departamento de Relações com o Governo do BNDES Antônio José Alves Júnior, estudos do banco mostram que a rentabilidade na produção aquícola, desde que bem conduzida, por resultar em retornos compatíveis com os melhores projetos financiados pelo banco. Antônio José também garantiu que o BNDES está pronto a financiar projetos de pesca e aquicultura na Amazônia, sem estabelecer qualquer limite para o repasse de recursos.

Segundo a ministra Ideli Salvatti, a proposta é alavancar a economia da região com sustentabilidade e lembrou: “a Amazônia Legal conta com uma das maiores biodiversidades do planeta e tem todas as condições favoráveis à criação de diversas espécies de pescado, sem a necessidade do desmate de nenhuma árvore”. Ela ressaltou que a região conta com 8,5% da água doce de todo o planeta e, os peixes da bacia amazônica – como a matrinxã, o pirarucu e o tambaqui - precisam ser pesquisados em profundidade, a exemplo do que ocorreu no passado com o frango e o suíno no País, para a melhoria dos sistemas de manejo e a seleção de matrizes mais produtivas.

A ministra destacou também pontos importantes, como a comercialização e a industrialização, que precisam ser tratados em sintonia com os estados: “a união do grupo, onde estarão os nove estados articulados, trabalhando em conjunto, facilita a ação. Assim é importante tratar de arranjos produtivos, que vão desde a instalação de unidades para a produção de ração, passando pela produção de alevinos, além do processamento e comercialização.”.

Ideli Salvatti se mostrou otimista com o desenvolvimento da aquicultura na Amazônia Legal, com um extraordinário potencial hídrico e com a mobilização dos estados para a superação dos entraves. Ela lembrou que o BNDES já deu o sinal verde para o financiamento de projetos com recursos do Fundo Amazônia e, o momento é organizar a proposta e apresentar um projeto regional para fomentar a cadeia produtiva de maneira sustentável na região.
