Norte Energia espera obter licença ambiental para Belo Monte ainda este mês

A empresa Norte Energia, responsável pela construção da Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte, no Rio Xingu (PA), espera obter ainda este mês a licença de instalação que permite o início da construção da usina. No momento, a empresa trabalha com uma licença parcial que permite apenas construções no canteiro de obras.

A Norte Energia informou, por meio da assessoria de imprensa, que técnicos do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama) estiveram, no início de maio, na região onde será construída a hidrelétrica para verificar pessoalmente o estágio em que se encontram as obras.

A empresa diz que já investiu R$ 50 milhões em ações socioambientais na região, de um total contratado de R$ 102 milhões. Para atender as medidas socioambientais impostas pelo Ibama, mais de 50 obras estão em andamento na região do Rio Xingu.

O ministro de Minas e Energia, Edison Lobão, disse ontem (11) que o governo aguarda o licenciamento ambiental “o mais rápido possível”. Segundo ele, as medidas determinadas pelo Ibama estão sendo cumpridas a seu tempo, e todas serão atendidas.

O Ibama informou, por meio de sua assessoria de imprensa, que não trabalha com datas fixadas para a emissão de licenças ambientais, mas garantiu que técnicos do órgão estão trabalhando na emissão da licença de instalação para Belo Monte.
