Primeiro-ministro da Suécia elogia avanços do Brasil na preservação ambiental

O primeiro-ministro da Suécia, Fredrik Reinfeldt, parabenizou ontem (17) a presidenta Dilma Rousseff pelos esforços feitos para combater o desmatamento na Amazônia e conter a emissão de gases de efeito estufa na atmosfera. Reinfeldt afirmou que o Brasil tem desempenhado um papel de destaque no desenvolvimento sustentável e na luta pela preservação dos direitos humanos.

O sueco fica no Brasil até hoje (18). O objetivo da visita de Reinfeldt é ampliar os acordos comerciais e de cooperação em vários setores, como ciência, tecnologia, inovação, educação e biocombustíveis. Segundo ele, a Suécia é o maior importador de etanol do Brasil na Europa.

No ano passado, o comércio entre Brasil e Suécia movimentou mais de US$ 2 bilhões. Nos três primeiros meses de 2011, as exportações do Brasil para a Suécia cresceram 21%, enquanto as importações tiveram aumento de 30,7% em comparação com o mesmo período de 2010. A Suécia é o 19º maior investidor estrangeiro no Brasil.

Dilma e Reinfeldt também conversaram sobre a Rio+20, a Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre Desenvolvimento Sustentável, que ocorrerá em junho de 2012 no Rio de Janeiro. A conferência, que ocorrerá 20 anos depois da Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento (Rio 92), tem com objetivo renovar o engajamento dos líderes mundiais com o desenvolvimento sustentável do planeta.
