Vacinação contra aftosa termina dia 31

Cerca de 1,7 milhão de cabeças de bovinos com idade abaixo de 24 meses, em todas as propriedades do estado do Piauí, devem ser imunizados até o final deste mês. A meta é proteger a totalidade do rebanho, que no ano passado teve mais de 93,8% de cobertura vacinal nas duas etapas da campanha.

De acordo com Dr. José Antonio Filho, diretor da ADAPI, o objetivo é ampliar o patamar do ano passado, aonde onze municípios chegaram aos 100% de cobertura e a média total do Estado ficou em 93,8%.

O Piauí atualmente está com risco médio e pleiteia risco livre com vacinação da febre aftosa. "Nossa meta sempre é atingir os 100% de vacinação", afirma José Antonio Filho, diretor da Adapi.

Em agosto, técnicos do Ministério da Agricultura voltam ao Piauí para realização de um inquérito soro-epidemiológico do rebanho bovino para constatar a erradicação da febre aftosa no Estado.

Os criadores terão até o dia 31 de maio para vacinar o seu rebanho e até o dia 15 de junho para certificar essa vacinação, levando a nota fiscal de aquisição da vacina para um escritório de atendimento da Adapi ou uma Unidade de Saúde Animal e Vegetal", afirma José Antonio.

Ainda de acordo com a ADAPI a fiscalização da vacinação será reforçada nas propriedades de pequenos e mini produtores, nos assentamentos rurais e em fazendas próximas de locais de leilões e exposições.

Os pecuaristas devem comunicar oficialmente a aplicação da vacina em uma das Unidades Locais DA adapI até 15 de junho. A próxima etapa da campanha, prevista para começar em 1º de novembro, deverá abranger todo o rebanho do estado.
