Pedro II vai receber Centro Tecnológico de Lapidação de Opala

A Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Tecnológico (Sedet) está programando, para junho próximo, a inauguração do Centro Tecnológico de Lapidação de Opala, na cidade de Pedro II, por ocasião do Festival de Inverno, com a presença do governador Wilson Martins.

De acordo com o secretário Warton Santos, trata-se de um empreendimento de grande importância econômica e social. A opala é uma gema preciosa para a confecção de joias, de grande aceitação no mundo inteiro, com um detalhe interessante: só é encontrada no Brasil (particularmente em Pedro II) e na Austrália.

Para a instalação do Centro Tecnológico, o Governo do Estado fez parceria com a Obra Kolping, uma organização não governamental alemã, que atua há vários anos em Pedro II. São mais de 200 pessoas que trabalham com opala naquele município. “Vamos dar curso de qualificação para agregar valor e já estamos, via Correios, através do Programa Exporta Fácil, dando encaminhamentos para as exportações da opala do Piauí”, concluiu o secretário.
