Mais de um milhão de animais já foram vacinados contra a aftosa

O período de vacinação da primeira etapa da campanha contra a aftosa está chegando ao fim, termina dia 31 de maio. A expectativa é de números recordes, segundo a Agência de Defesa Agropecuária do Piauí (Adapi). Fiscais e técnicos estão percorrendo o Estado para acompanhar a vacinação.

Para o diretor da agência, José Antônio Filho, até agora todos os prazos e metas estão sendo cumpridos. “Estamos com 25 dias na etapa de vacinação, os dados que nós temos são satisfatórios, no último balanço feito há dez dias, o número de doses de vacinas vendidas já se aproximava de um milhão. Mesmo com prazo até o dia 15 de junho, já temos 70% do rebanho certificado”.

O número de doses disponíveis no mercado é suficiente para vacinar o rebanho piauiense reforça o diretor da Adapi. “Nós temos 1,7 mil doses de vacinas disponíveis no nosso controle, ainda tem as vacinas que chegam de outros estados que são divisa com o Piauí, é uma prática comum entre criadores que têm fazenda em mais de um estado”, explica.

O Piauí tem cerca de 1,7 milhão de bovinos. Na região Sul do Estado, concentra-se a maior parte do rebanho. Nos últimos quatro anos, o Piauí tem conseguido atingir índices de mais de 90% de vacinação no rebanho bovino. O objetivo da Adapi é ampliar esse patamar, consolidando o Piauí como zona livre da febre aftosa. A média atual é de 93,8%.

“Esperamos vacinar todo o rebanho bovino do Piauí. A nossa obrigação, junto ao Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária, é superar sempre os 90% de cobertura vacinal. Isso nós estamos atendendo os critérios adotados pelo ministério há mais de quatro etapas de vacinação, para esta campanha queremos atingir, no mínimo, 95% de cobertura”, finaliza.
