Começam as comemorações pelo Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente

Começa nesta quinta-feira (2/6) e vai até o dia 30 de junho a programação de comemorações pelo Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente (5/6), uma iniciativa do Ministério do Meio Ambiente (MMA) e do Governo do Distrito Federal (GDF). Palestras, oficinas, exposições, seminários e apresentações musicais são alguns dos atrativos do evento.

As comemorações começam nesta quinta-feira (2/6), às 14h, na Conha Acústica, em Brasília, com a solenidade de abertura que contará com a presença do ministro interino do MMA, Francisco Gaetani, e da secretária de Articulação Institucional e Cidadania Ambiental, Samyra Crespo.

Em seguida, 16h, a palestra "A floresta e sua importância para a população" mostra como as florestas estão mais relacionadas com as nossas vidas do que imaginamos. A representante do Serviço Florestal Brasileiro, Cláudia Rosa, abordará o conceito de floresta, os serviços ambientais que ela provê para a população - por exemplo, regulação do clima -, os produtos que a floresta oferece e estão no nosso dia a dia e como devemos protegê-las. Os participantes terão ainda informações sobre uma das estratégias para conhecer melhor esse patrimônio florestal, o Inventário Florestal Nacional (IFN).

Na sexta-feira (3/6), também na Conha Acústica, a palestra será da coordenadora de Consumo Sustentável do MMA,Fernanda Daltro, sobre "Consumo sustentável e Cidadania", começando às 16h.

No Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente, domingo (5/6), haverá feiras de oportunidades ambientais, trilha agrosensitiva, campeonatos esportivos e shows com atrações locais e nacionais, a partir das 09h, às margens do Lago Paranoá, na Concha.

Na segunda-feira (6/6), na sede do Ibama, a ministra do Meio Ambiente, Izabella Teixeira, participa do lançamento do filme '"TeVe, um olhar reciclado", e dará uma palestra sobre "Meio Ambiente, crescimento e sustentabilidade".

No último dia, sexta-feira (10), será inaugurada a mostra "Imagem do lixo", com obras do artista plástico Vik Muniz, no Museu da República, Esplanada dos Ministérios, que fica exposta até 30 de junho.

Oficinas - Para quem quiser aprender artesanato com materiais recicláveis, a Semana do Meio Ambiente vai proporcionar três oficinas, gratuitas. Na sexta-feira (3/6), 17h, a artesã Elvira Feliciano vai ensinar a fazer objetos com jornal reciclado.
Já no sábado, às 11h, acontece a oficina de reciclagem de PET e caixas de leite com a artesã Vanessa Wetzel, e às 16h a oficina de crochê com sacolas plásticas com Margareth Sabóia.

O Dia - A data foi estabelecida em 1972 com o objetivo de sensibilizar a opinião pública para a necessidade de proteger e valorizar o meio ambiente.

Foi escolhida pela Assembleia Geral da ONU porque recorda o dia de abertura da Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre o Meio Humano (Estocolmo, 1972), que culminou com a criação do Pnuma (Programa das Nações Unidas para o Meio Ambiente).
