Dilma reafirma que desmatamento não é objeto de negociação

Em evento relativo à Conferência das Nações Unidas sobre o Desenvolvimento Sustentável, a Rio+20, a presidenta Dilma Rousseff fez um discurso com foco no meio ambiente e afirmou que não irá negociar com desmatadores. A afirmação se refere à discussão do novo Código Florestal Brasileiro e foi endereçada aos parlamentares, já que o polêmico projeto foi aprovado na Câmara e, agora, aguarda votação no Senado.

“Não negociaremos a questão do desmatamento. Iremos cumprir os compromissos que assumimos e não permitiremos que haja volta atrás na roda da história”, afirmou a presidenta no discurso. Dilma já sinalizou que é contra a anistia prevista pelo texto aprovado na Câmara dos Deputados a quem já desmatou áreas de reserva legal ou de proteção ambiental.

A presidenta afirmou, por mais de uma vez, que o Brasil tem compromissos históricos com a sustentabilidade e vem compatibilizando o crescimento econômico e social com o desenvolvimento sustentável.

Na cerimônia no Palácio do Planalto, foram assinados decretos para criar instâncias responsáveis pela organização da Rio+20, marcada para junho de 2012, no Rio de Janeiro. A Comissão Nacional da Rio+20 será responsável por promover o diálogo entre os governos federal, estadual, municipal e a sociedade civil para discutir a participação do Brasil na conferência. O Comitê Nacional irá planejar a organização e fazer a gestão de recursos, contratos e ações necessárias para a realização do encontro.

A Assessoria Extraordinária, também criada hoje, ficará responsável pela coordenação dos estudos sobre economia verde e governança internacional para o desenvolvimento sustentável, que servirão como base para formação da posição brasileira sobre os temas.

“O meio ambiente faz parte do conjunto da agenda de desenvolvimento, não é mais secundário. E a economia verde não inibe a geração de riquezas e empregos”, disse a ministra do Meio Ambiente, Izabela Teixeira.

A Rio+20 irá reunir líderes mundiais comprometidos com o desenvolvimento sustentável do planeta. Dois temas principais serão discutidos na conferência: a economia verde no contexto do desenvolvimento sustentável e erradicação da pobreza; e o enquadramento institucional para o desenvolvimento sustentável.

Os líderes mundiais também vão avaliar a aplicação e o progresso dos compromissos assumidos em encontros anteriores pela comunidade internacional a respeito do desenvolvimento sustentável.
