Ministério do Meio Ambiente trabalha para alterar Código Florestal no Senado

A ministra do Meio Ambiente, Izabella Teixeira, disse ontem (8) que a pasta trabalha para alterar o texto do novo Código Florestal, aprovado na Câmara dos Deputados. A afirmação foi feita após reunião com senadores para tratar da ida da ministra ao Senado.

“Não podemos ter um texto que possa gerar contradições, que não seja recepcionado pela sociedade, que não esclareça para o agricultor familiar e para o agronegócio quais os seus direitos e como se regulariza a situação do passado e, mais do que isso, como avançamos em uma agenda ambiental sólida”, explicou Izabella, sem detalhar os pontos que devem ser alterados.

Ao lado dos senadores Rodrigo Rollemberg (PSB-DF), Jorge Viana (PT-AC), Luiz Henrique (PMDB-SC), Acir Gurgacz (PDT-RO) e Delcídio Amaral (PT-MS), a ministra avaliou o clima de discussão sobre o Código Florestal como extremamente positivo e de entendimento.

“Temos a oportunidade não só de fazer ajustes das imperfeições, mas também de criar novas condições em torno do debate político sobre o código em relação ao clima, à biodiversidade, à agricultura de baixo carbono. Há um leque de temas que deverão ser objeto, pelo menos no que depende do ministério, para ampliar o debate político e favorecer o diálogo para um relatório conjunto”, destacou.

A ida de Izabella Teixeira ao Senado estava agendada para amanhã (9), mas, devido a um compromisso do senador Luiz Henrique, relator do projeto na Comissão de Agricultura do Senado, foi remarcada para a semana que vem. Após a reunião, o senador Rodrigo Rollemberg declarou estar convicto de que será possível construir um entendimento em torno do novo texto do Código Florestal.
