Ibama capacita agente para o combate ao comércio ilegal de substâncias químicas

Vários temas estão sendo abordados por especialistas brasileiros e de outros países em suas diversas faces durante os três dias do curso

O presidente do Ibama, Curt Trennepohl, abriu nesta terça, 25 de outubro, o simpósio para capacitar agentes ambientais no combate ao comércio ilegal de substâncias controladas por acordos internacionais.

Vários temas estão sendo abordados por especialistas brasileiros e de outros países em suas diversas faces durante os três dias do curso.
Trennepohl observou que "a atuação em acordos multilaterais é exclusiva dos órgãos federais, portanto há uma preocupação em capacitar os analistas ambientais a fim de qualificar cada vez mais a atuação do Ibama na área".

Os contrabandos internacionais vão de madeira ao tráfico de substâncias químicas, passando por uma gama enorme de recursos ambientais, especialmente no Brasil, por ser o país que possui uma das mais ricas biodiversidades do planeta.

Segundo Clark , a melhor forma de combater os ilícitos é por meio da integração das agências, com serviço de inteligência, numa abordagem multi-institucional, "buscando prevenir o comércio ilegal e facilitar o comércio legal".

O simpósio prossegue até nesta quinta-feira, 27 de outubro, de 8h30 as 17h30, em Brasília, DF.
