Brasil participa de feira de cafés em Seul

No estande dos Cafés do Brasil, serão servidos cafés especiais brasileiros de várias regiões produtoras.

A variedade de aromas e sabores do café brasileiro será mostrada durante a 10º Café Show 2011, de 24 a 27 de novembro, em Seul, na Coreia do Sul. Com o apoio do Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento e recursos do Fundo de Defesa da Economia Cafeeira (Funcafé), a Associação Brasileira de Cafés Especiais (Brazil Specialty Coffee Association - BSCA, na sigla em inglês) participa da feira que deve receber milhares de participantes de países consumidores e produtores.

O evento é uma oportunidade para as associações e cafeicultores estabelecerem contatos e realizar negócios. Esta participação se dará por meio de estande dos Cafés do Brasil, de 36 m², onde serão servidos cafés especiais brasileiros de várias regiões produtoras. Entre elas estão Chapada Diamantina (BA), Montanhas do Espírito Santo, Centro-Oeste de São Paulo, Mogiana Paulista, Cerrado Mineiro, Matas de Minas, Sul de Minas e Norte Pioneiro do Paraná, com recepção para potenciais clientes.

Nos dias 25 e 26 de novembro, no estande brasileiro, haverá sessões de cupping de cafés que representem a safra brasileira 2011 - Taste of the Harvest 2011. Os participantes poderão degustar, na xícara, a qualidade de amostras de cafés brasileiros de produtores associados da BSCA e dos vencedores do 12º Concurso de Qualidade Cafés do Brasil - "Cup of Excellence" - Edição 2011. Trata-se dos melhores grãos nacionais produzidos nesta safra, cujos lotes participarão do concorrido leilão, via internet, em janeiro de 2012.

Durante a feira Café Show, no dia 24 de novembro, será realizado o seminário institucional sobre os Cafés do Brasil, com duas palestras. Luiz Paulo Dias Pereira Filho, presidente da BSCA, apresentará as diversas regiões produtoras, as certificações brasileiras, o histórico dos cafés especiais no país e a atuação da BSCA. Já o classificador Sílvio Leite, um dos profissionais mais respeitados no mercado internacional de cafés especiais, fará uma apresentação sobre a qualidade, os diferenciais e as características do produto brasileiro. O especialista vai falar também dos três métodos de preparo de secagem de café utilizados no Brasil: natural, cereja descascado e despolpado, e ficará à disposição dos visitantes do estande para apresentar detalhamentos técnicos.

De acordo com os organizadores, a edição de 2010 contou com a participação de 205 expositores de 18 países, 520 estandes e cerca de 65.000 visitantes.
