Dilma diz que reforma agrária brasileira põe o país "na vanguarda" da democratização da terra

A ministra-chefe da Casa Civil, Dilma Rousseff, discordou nesse domingo, dia 26, da posição manifestada por um dos coordenadores do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais sem Terra, João Paulo Rodrigues, segundo a qual o processo de distribuição de terra no país estaria lento. Ela apresentou balanço que mostra que no período de 2003 a 2008 foram feitos assentamentos em 43 milhões de hectares.

Para Dilma, a área é significativa e coloca o Brasil na vanguarda do processo de democratização da terra. Comparando com outros países, ela afirmou que a Bolívia tem uma ação significativa de implantação da reforma agrária, mas com uma área de assentamento bem menor: 18 milhões de hectares de 2006 até este ano.

Segundo ela, na Nicarágua, de 1979 a 1986, foram 2,8 milhões de hectares ocupados com assentamentos. No Chile, essa área foi de 5,5 milhões de hectares, em Cuba, 5 milhões de hectares e na Venezuela, 2 milhões de hectares.

Além disso, ela observou que o atual governo apoiou o movimento com linhas de crédito e com assistência técnica. Dilma criticou os governos anteriores, dizendo que no passado se assentavam as populações e as abandonavam.

Outro benefício que Dilma destacou foi o Programa Luz para Todos, que permitiu aos pequenos produtores facilidades como resfriar o leite, processar alimentos, como a transformação de mandioca em farinha e conservar o peixe.

Sobre a invasão do MST a uma fazenda de laranjais pertencente à empresa Cutrale, ela disse que o governo tem uma posição clara de apoiar os movimentos sociais e respeitá-los, mas não pode ser complacente com qualquer ato ilegal.

Dilma Rousseff deu a entrevista depois de participar de um encontro do Partido dos Trabalhadores com líderes de movimentos populares.
